Andrew Dewdney, David Dibosa and Victoria Walsh interview with art historian Leon Wainwright, as part of ‘Tate Encounters: Britishness and Visual Culture’, a three-year research project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council through the Diasporas, Migration and Identities Programme, which commenced in April 2007. Collaborating institutions: Tate Britain, London South Bank University and the University of the Arts London, through Chelsea College. Leon Wainwright reflects on the issues of the relationship between the post-colonial and the global from the perspective of his own academic career in relation to the evolution of art history as a discipline.
